Up for sale we have an EXTREMELY RARE Serigraph on Paper by LeRoy Neiman titled "THE GRENADIER BAR." Without a doubt, his last published artist signed and numbered piece has become one of his most sought after images. A bit about the history of this amazing artwork: Wilton Place, built in 1872 on the site of a cow yard will lead you from Knightsbridge to Wilton Crescent and then into the hard to find Wilton Row. This delightful mews was once part of the barracks of the Duke of Wellington's guards, the Iron Duke who lived a short distance away at Apsley house, better known as number one London. The old officer's mess now houses the Grenadier Pub, along with the patriotic red, white and blue d'cor and the grenadier's century box that would be a tourist delight if they could only find it.

It is said to be haunted by an officer who was shot cheating at cards. You can feel like you are in the country in this corner of a busy part of town. The colors and impressionistic imagery that Neiman has used to depict this scene are absolutely striking. His use of browns and beige in this piece force you to focus to become part of this storied artwork. Once you have become part of the piece you will want to join the Iron Duke for a shot of Grenadier finest scotch or a pint of brew. Purchase this wonderful piece now and become part of Neiman's Grenadier Bar!
