Harvey,??? is one of the most historically significant American artists. Harvey began painting images of the American West and idolized artist Edouard Cortes painted similar subject matter. He used a classic artist style and depicted classic American images of horses and western landscapes. Harvey struggled during the first years, but found critical acclaim in 1965 at his first major art show in New York City. He soon developed a following, including the President Lyndon Johnson who loved the artist???s style and related to his American west themed images as a native Texan himself. During the same year, G. Harvey would be honored with the New Master???s Award presented by the Artists??? Professional League. This painting measures approx. 24" x 36", is signed by Harvey in the lower left corner "G. Harvey 56". It is framed beautifully in a wood molding with gold highlights. It is a fantastic original oil that will add beauty to any room it is hung. The framed dimensions are approx. 32??? x 44".
